Weekly Camp Tickets
Our English lessons are both stimulating and engaging and have been designed specifically for multinational classes. We use our own English syllabus and select materials that are current and geared towards younger learners to ensure lessons are dynamic and relevant to our students.
We aim to increase the confidence of all students to communicate comfortably and to assist speedy development in their on-going English language learning once they return home.
Students can choose from two English course options:
General English – Available for students of all levels of English.
Intermediate/Advanced English – Available for students of an upper intermediate or advanced level of English.
Multi-sports & Activities Camp
The afternoon activity programme takes place over 5 afternoons each week. Students will attend SITC multi-sports and activity camp based at Jordanhill School, Glasgow. Spoken English will be put into practice at camp, amongst their peers.
Our older students will be given the opportunity to join the Summer in the City Champion Program that could see them assist our staff in the set-up and delivery of sessions, assisting with younger members of camp and/or taking part in the sports and activities that most interest them. All sessions will be delivered in English and students will be grouped with SITC campers of the same age. If older students would prefer to do some different afternoon activities this can be arranged on site with the Summer School Director.
During afternoon sessions at Summer in the City, the children will experience a range of team games, sporting activities and artistic and creative craft activities. The program is designed to be fun, engaging and interactive.
Glasgow Caledonian University (informally GCU or Caledonian) is a public university in Glasgow. It was formed in 1993 and has been ranked among the UK’s top 10 new universities. GCU is regularly ranked as one of the UK’s top 10 modern universities and is one of very few modern universities to rank among the top 50 universities in the UK in at least one of the national league tables. It is also the first and, so far, only modern Scottish university to rank among the top 400 universities the world, making Glasgow home to three universities in the top 400 world rankings. The University has had mixed reviews in UK-wide (national) league tables over the years, attributed by the Guardian to its firm accent on widening participation in higher education. A 2013 review by the UK’s Higher Education Statistics Agency placed GCU as top in Glasgow, 2nd in Scotland, and 11th in the UK for employability among graduates. Also in 2013, the University was ranked 2nd in the UK for international student satisfaction.
The university has been cited as one of the UK’s most “dynamic and innovative” universities and will be the perfect home for our International students during our summer school.
